TOR Home l News Home

If you are like most of us, you sat spellbound as the greatest athletes on earth pitting their skills against one another during the 2010 Winter Olympics hosted this year by our neighbors up in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The events were inspiring, but so was the scenery. Thanks to non-stop media coverage, we all got more than a casual glimpse of Vancouver and its surrounding countryside. If you’re like me, you will have to admit that up until February, you hadn’t thought of visiting Vancouver as a vacation destination. Now, however, the idea seems pretty appealing.

Of course, I am not a big fan of snow and cold, except when I watch skiing on TV while wrapped up in my blanket with sleeves. So, I think I may wait until it warms up a bit before I venture north of the border. Still, it is fun to start dreaming now about visiting the city where you saw so many records broken and so many great places to visit. Thanks to the Internet, ideas about what to do and see when visiting beautiful Vancouver are only a few mouse clicks away.

Planning your Vancouver vacation for this summer or even sooner, if you still want to ski or enjoy the winter sports, is not hard. You can get the information you need to make choices about what to see, where to stay and what sort of legal issues you’ll be faced with by checking on the Internet. Hey, thanks to the world-wide-web, you can book a hotel room find great restaurants and nightlife, too. Want to drink where the Olympiads toasted their success? You can look up the location on line through one of many great sites dedicated to the area. I like Canada 411, a website loaded with information on different parts of that country. Sites like this one are filled with information and links to aid you in making your own pilgrimage to the Olympic venues in Vancouver. While you may not bring home the gold, I’ll bet you bring home some pretty great memories and maybe a few souvenirs, too.
